This fateful meeting profoundly impacted both Colzouti and Bruno’s lives. “Sora abruptly stopped in front of a young man who was sitting outside his tent,” Colzouti wrote. “As soon as their eyes met, Sora bounded over to him. I instinctively pulled Sora back, overwhelmed by preconceived notions. I recognized the man and intended to move on, but Sora refused to leave. He looked back at Bruno, and even when I tried to pull him away, Sora remained steadfast. With an unmistakable look in his eyes, Sora convinced me to approach Bruno. To my surprise, Bruno welcomed us with a broad smile.”
The beginning of this experience sparked something in Colzouti. He was deeply moved by his dog’s act of kindness towards a man in need, and it taught him a valuable lesson about empathy. He realized that there was much to learn from both his dog and the stranger, and he felt a strong desire to repay the man who had opened his eyes to this important lesson. From that point on, Colzouti made it a daily practice to reach out to those in need. It all began when Sora showed immense kindness towards Bruno. Although Colzouti and Sora no longer come across Bruno during their daily walks, they still stay in touch and make it a point to meet up once a week for some fun playtime.
